# About New Braunfels AC Guide

## Why this site exists

New Braunfels AC Guide is an independent local resource for finding licensed AC repair and HVAC companies in New Braunfels, Comal County, and the surrounding Texas Hill Country.

We built it because choosing an HVAC company under pressure — when the AC is already out — meant digging through scattered reviews, dead listings, and out-of-town directories that didn't know the area. This site keeps the useful information in one place and keeps it current.

We are not an HVAC company ourselves, and there's no out-of-state media company behind this. We're an independently run guide. When you ask us for help, we [connect you](/get-help/) with a licensed local contractor; we don't rank, rate, or endorse anyone.

## How we keep this information current

Our [contractor directory](/contractors/) mirrors the public Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) license records for the New Braunfels area. It is rebuilt automatically from that database each time the site updates, so it reflects who currently holds a state Air Conditioning and Refrigeration license, not a ranking or a recommendation. For each company we list, that means:

-   The business holds a current TDLR A/C contractor license (Class A or Class B)
-   It is shown in its licensed county within our service area
-   Technicians who handle refrigerant are required by federal law to hold EPA Section 608 certification

Because the directory tracks TDLR directly, licenses can still change between updates, so always confirm a license yourself before you hire. If something looks out of date, email us and we'll look into it.
